Tecno Spark 8P specifications in Kenya
Get the Tecno Spark 8P from Ksh 17,000 at Ropem Phones. On the right side of the device are the power button and the volume rocker keys. The power button also doubles down as a fingerprint scanner, and it is fast. Not the fastest, but it is fast enough for locking and unlocking the device. To the left, you’ve got a SIM tray that can take Dual nano SIM and micro SD card. At the bottom, a headphone jack, a microphone, USB types C charging import, and the speaker grill. Moving onto the rear is a quad-camera setup with a flashlight. That 50 MP camera is quite something. More on it later.
Performance
Tecno Spark 8P comes with a Mediatek MT6762D Helio P22 or Mediatek MT6769V Helio G70 chipset. This is an entry-level gaming processor at best. It offers some gaming improvement with 2D games. As long as you’re gonna have too many background apps running, performance should be okay on this phone. To be honest, the Spark 7P had better performance. Strange why Tecno stepped it down a tad bit here. As for software, Spark 8P comes with Android 11, HIOS 7.6. Pre-installed up to still present, but not to include as it used to be.
Better display
In front of the Tecno Spark, 8P device is its 6.6-inch 1080P display which is another welcome improvement from its predecessor. The teardrop tower houses an 8MP selfie camera. Speaking of the display, the 6.6, inches Full HD Plus display with a quick response promises a fluid experience. It displays 1080 x 2408 pixels resolution with a pixel density of 400. The brightness level is measured at 395 nits. You will really like how bright and sharp it is with good contrast. Watching YouTube videos is fine and the screen is okay for the price. At this price point, you don’t expect to have the greatest.
But generally this display, is okay. Better than what you Tecno Spark 7P has to offer. Seriously, which one will you rather have? A 720P display with a faster 90 Hz fresh foot or a 1080 P 60 Hz display? But both are IPS LCDs so the decision is based on preference.
Camera
That 50 MP, f/1.6, (wide), PDAF camera that graces the back of this device is quite a highlight of the Tecno Spark 8P. It takes decent-looking images especially when the lighting condition is good. It is bright with nice colors and dynamic range is okay for a device in its class. This camera has detailed and saturated images. The selfie camera is also decent. You will also like how the 8 megapixel still manages to retain some details, even though they might appear too soft when you zoom in. Color reproduction is also something worth a mention here. Spark 8P can also shoot 1080p@30fps videos.
Battery
One of the highlights of this device, Tecno Spark 8P, has to be the long-lasting Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable battery that you are going to get. It is very reliable and decent. This one can comfortably last for more than a day. If you’re an average user, to be Frank batteries on an issue on here. The only issue is filling it up when you finally get to drain it. Since it doesn’t come with a fast charger out of the box charging, expect a full charge in 2-3 hours.
In the box
When you open the box you will be greeted with a device wrapped in plastic with basic highlights about its key selling points. Next is a 12 plus 1-month warranty card, a transparency case, 10W charging brick, a SIM card removal tool, a micro USB charging cable, and an earpiece.
