Design
vivo V23e is one of the lightest smartphones in 2022. And not only light, but it’s also slim. This is an easy smartphone to hold, it’s lightweight and it doesn’t attract fingerprints, which is awesome. The rear of this smartphone is made from glass, the sides are made from plastic and the front doesn’t have gorilla glass protection. By the way inside its box is the SIM ejector tool, warranty card, Silicon case, earphones, a 3.5 mm audio jack to USB type C adapter, a USB type C cable, and a 44W fast charger.
To the external features, the v23e comes with two microphones. One is at the top while the order is at the bottom. It has a hybrid SIM and memory tray means you can either use two SIM cards or one SIM card and a memory card. It has a mono speaker. On the right side is where the volume keys and power button are located. The fingerprints scanner on this smartphone is located underneath its display. Switching to the rear the phone comes with three cameras. There’s also a flashlight by the side of the camera.
Display
On the front, which is the display of the Vivo V23e, you’ll find a notch with two selfie cameras that isn’t too obtrusive (Hey Siri!). It also hides proper proximity and a light sensor which are better than virtual alternatives. There’s an optical under-display fingerprint reader, which is snappy and reliable. As for the display itself, Vivo V23e has a 6.44 inches AMOLED panel. The phone supports HDR 10 Plus and HLG and has the highest possible wide Vine L1DRM certification for higher streaming resolutions. And while it handles an auto-refresh rate option, it’s not reliable. So you should stick to either 90Hz or the standard 60 Hz. This one has an 83.8% screen-to-body ratio.
Platform
When it comes to its software, Vivo V23e runs on an Android 11 with Funtouch 11.1. This can be described as a pretty lightweight OS that is neat and almost bloatware-free. Almost! Actually, it is very quiet to the stock Android experience. But of course, it has a lot of customization options. Otherwise, it would just be pure Android 11. You can customize your charging animation, or even the face unlock animation.

There is also have Ultra Game Mode for an improved gaming experience. vivo V23e comes with 8GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. All regions have 8 GB of RAM since it is the only version available globally. That RAM Extension feature uses memory from 128GB to increase the RAM capacity by 4 gigabytes. This just helps the device run more smoothly. This phone is powered by the Mediatek Helio G96 (12 nm) processor which should be an upgrade to the G95. Performance-wise the phone does a decent job. The thermals are respectable too.
Cameras
As far as cameras go, the Vivo V23e really shines in the selfie department with the same setup as on the V23 Pro. You get a 50-megapixel main camera with auto-focus, an 8 MP, f/2.2, 120˚, 16mm (ultrawide), 1/4.0″, 1.12µm, and two dual tones LEDs that are hidden in the corners of the frame. Selfies are captured at 12.5 megapixels by default. Shots look fantastic! The colors were natural and the background had pleasant bokeh thanks to its dual 50 MP, f/1.8, (wide) AF. This one does not have the secondary 8 MP, f/2.3, 105˚ (ultrawide) selfie shooter like the Vivo v23 5G smartphone does – check it out.
4K videos from the main front camera are stunning. The autofocus works well and doesn’t hurt either. With EIS off footage is decently steady, but if you’re willing to shoot in Full HD and accept a bit of crop, you can switch it on enjoy even smoother videos. There’s EIS on both the main and Ultrawide cameras in the back. There’s also a super stabilization mode on the main camera that smooths out the video further.
Battery
Its Li-Po 4050 mAh battery is respectable. And the phone makes good use of its capacity with 101 hours on endurance tests. The 44W flash charge of the V23e comes with also works well. You can charge the phone from dead to 69% in half an hour. For a full charge, you will need just over an hour, which is quite good too.
