Design
For its build quality, Vivo Y53s has a plastic rear, plastic frame, and glass at the front. The front does come with a film screen protector installed on it. We’ll definitely advise you to get a plastic or glass screen protector just to be safe. And now that we are being safe, should you submerge this phone in water for some minutes, it should be fine. Externally, it comes to the 3.5 mm audio jack, a mic, a USB Type-C port, and a mono speaker.

On the right side is where you find the volume keys and the power buttons. The power button doubles as the fingerprint scanner. Setting it up is fast and using it is even faster at about 0.2 seconds to unlock the smartphone. The face unlock feature is also available here and works very well. At the phone’s top, that is Vivo Y53s is a secondary microphone and a SIM card tray. The phone can take two Nanos SIM cards and a memory card.
Display
For the display, the Vivo Y53s S has a 6.5 inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels. It’s an IPS LCD panel with a 60 Hz refresh rate and for an IPSS panel, the colors at the descent. The panel is bright and consuming media on this device is enjoyable.
Cameras
Now moving to the camera department. On Vivo Y53s’ rear, you will see the triple camera setup. These are a 64 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), 1/1.97″, 0.7µm, PDAF, a 2 MP, f/2.4, (macro) and a 2MP depth sensor. It also comes with flash LED delight. Now switching to the front, it comes to the 16-megapixel camera. It takes decent pictures. Using the portrait mode, however, will produce mixed results. Now switching back to the 64 megapixels main camera is impressive. Colors are natural considering the price of this device. Awesome portrait shots with the main camera unlike with the selfie. So good thing there.
Performance
On to performance, the Vivo Y53s comes with either Qualcomm SM4350 Snapdragon 480 5G or Mediatek Helio G80 processor depending on your region. It’s (Mediatek) a 12-nanometer processor that offers boosted clock speed, smooth performance and enhanced powered efficiency. This one is good for people that do a lot of multitasking on their smartphones. Speaking of which, this phone comes with 8 gigabytes of RAM and 3 gigabytes of the phone storage can be converted to RAM making it 11 gigabytes of RAM. That’s quite impressive. There is that Game Assistant feature that optimizes the phone for the best gaming experience. Great news for gamers we suppose.
Battery
For the battery, Vivo Y53s comes to the 5,000 mAh battery that easily lasts the entire day. What’s impressive for me is the charging time. It takes one hour eight minutes to charge this smartphone from zero to 100%. And the battery seems to last a long, long time. Its charging speed is caped at fast-charging 18W, according to GSM Arena. But the phone itself comes with a 33W fast charger included.
