Design
The Xiaomi Redmi 10C has a decent design, with a peculiar camera module layout. And the position of the fingerprint scanner is a bit uncomfortable until one gets used to it. What we mean is that it will be hard to reach if you have small hands. It gets a job done regardless, and you have no problems unlocking the device. As long as you can reach it of course. Its rear panel has a textured design stripe pattern. Again, the phone is available in colors Midnight Black, Pacific Blue, and Caribbean Green.
Display
The display of Xiaomi Redmi 10C is 720P IPSS, LCD. It really is not the brightest outdoors. It is 6.71 inches, a large display with a waterdrop notch style. If you like large mobile screens on a budget, this one definitely fits the job description. One more thing to note is that it is 60 Hertz, which is pretty much a standard at the price point. Though there are devices priced less have 90 Hertz like Tecno Spark 8C. Be sure to check it out.
Performance
Being powered by a Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) means you can expect some solid performance from the Xiaomi Redmi 10C. As far as this price point is concerned there’s barely any device released recently with as much processing power as this. You can use it for some gaming and expect decent performance. Even though Xiaomi Redmi 10C lacks fast charging, it comes with a USB C port. It also has a really good battery life. Its Li-Po 5000 mAh, non-removable may seem standard, but it seems pretty well optimized to meet or exceed expectations. You will find it pretty impressive.
This phone comes with memory options of 64 GB or 128 GB. And you can expand this with an SD card. Xiaomi Redmi 10C comes loaded with MiUI 13 and Android 11. Not sure how soon we’ll see an Android 12 update, but hopefully it should come. MIUI 13 is on this phone is much in the same as that on Redmi 11 with the exemption of second space. You will still need to uninstall a couple of preinstalled apps during setup. You get the memory extension feature, which adds 1GB of virtual RAM to the default 4GB RAM on the device. This brings it to a total of 5GB RAM. Nothing. This is only possible as long as there is enough internal storage space.
Cameras
Xiaomi Redmi 10C has a 5 MP, f/2.0 selfie camera. And please ignore the deception in this design, as there are only two cameras sensors on the back of the Xiaomi Redmi 10C. The dual combination consists of a 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF, and a 2 MP, f/2.4, (depth). The rare cameras will give you decent photos in the right lighting conditions. You will be satisfied with the results here. You can switch to 50MP mode to take higher-resolution photos. Again this phone is capable of shooting [email protected] videos from both selfie and rear cameras.
Our thoughts
Now Xiaomi Redmi 10C can be considered good value for money, mostly based on the fact that it is powered by a chipset present on more expensive devices. And its 50 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide), PDAF makes its pricing even more competitive. This Redmi 10C provides the best value performance-wise when you consider its price. Its major selling point is the Qualcomm SM6225 Snapdragon 680 4G (6 nm) processor, which is the same processor that the more expensive Xiaomi Redmi Noye 11 has. And surprisingly, it even has slightly higher benchmark scores. It is actually difficult to find a device at this price point with this much value in specifications even though Xiaomi has cut some corners.
The signature IR blaster is absent here. It also lacks stereo speakers and a secondary microphone but we really wouldn’t expect that at this price point. Buy it is still a dual SIM device with support for expandable storage. Also, from the box, there is no protective casing which is usually present on all Redmi devices. There is also a pre-installed screen protector, and you also don’t get fast charging here, not a fast charger.
